Physical therapy here means treatment with devices and tools (in Hungarian: fizikoterápia). At MozgásKlinika Retek utca it is not booked as a session of its own: it is part of the 50-minute treatment combined with manual therapy (HUF 24,990).
What is it for?
According to the clinic, the devices serve to reduce pain and muscle tension and to support regeneration. The physiotherapist adjusts the settings at every session to your current condition and to the therapy goal.
Two typical situations in which it may be part of the plan:
- with some musculoskeletal problems it can prepare the muscles and joints for active movement therapy;
- preparation before surgery and rehabilitation after surgery.
Which tools does the clinic use?
According to the clinic’s website, these are available at Retek utca, among others:
- TENS: mild electrical stimulation delivered through electrode pads placed on the skin.
- Ultrasound: the physiotherapist moves the treatment head over the treated area.
- Cupping: soft-tissue treatment using the suction of cups placed on the skin.
- Flossing: a technique that uses an elastic band.
- Kinesiology tape: an elastic tape placed on the skin.
Which of these may be suitable for you is decided by the physiotherapist after the assessment.
Why together with manual therapy?
Manual therapy is hands-on treatment that the devices can complement. According to the clinic, the two methods together may stimulate circulation, ease inflammation and support tissue regeneration. Device-based treatment therefore has a supporting role: on its own it does not develop strength, stability or movement control. Those need active physiotherapy.
Where does it fit in the plan?
On the lower levels of the MozgásPiramis®, where the goal is to treat pain and the current complaint. As you move up, the focus shifts more and more to active work. A separate article explains the difference between the treatment types.
How do you book it?
On the booking page look for “Manuálterápiával kombinált fizikoterápia”. If you have not been to the clinic before, book the first consultation first: treatment always starts with an examination.
