The MozgásPiramis® is the MozgásKlinika network’s own treatment method. The same professional thinking and therapy framework shapes care in every clinic of the network, including MozgásKlinika Retek utca in Budapest’s 2nd district. The basic idea: rehabilitation is a process whose stages build on each other, and a series of unrelated treatments is not enough.
What are the five levels?
- Treating pain and the current complaint.
- Restoring the necessary joint range of motion.
- Developing muscle strength and capacity.
- Building functional stability and movement control.
- Returning to everyday, work or sporting load.
Each level is described on the MozgásPiramis® page.
How is your level decided?
Your current functional condition decides which level you are on and what the next priority is. The name of the symptom does not. The first assessment shows where you stand: the physiotherapist talks through your complaints, examines you and builds your plan on that basis.
Why is it not enough that it no longer hurts?
The aim of the method is more than “no pain”. The aim is to rebuild function, movement and load tolerance to the right level. If treatment stops when the pain eases, range of motion, strength and stability are left undeveloped, although load tolerance rests on them.
Which treatment belongs to which level?
The levels stand for therapy goals, and one level does not equal one treatment. On the lower levels manual therapy typically plays a larger part, complemented by physical therapy where needed. Higher up, active physiotherapy becomes more and more important: proper muscle activation, movement control, strength and stability.
What is at the top of the pyramid?
Medical Fitness: a movement programme led by a professional that forms a bridge between rehabilitation and regular exercise you can keep up in the long run. It has its own article.
What does this mean for you in practice?
Your treatment follows a plan, and every session has its place in the process. Nobody can promise the number of sessions in advance, but you will always know where you are and what the next step is.
